And the character spam starts... :)

I'm so sorry for the huge size but hey, size counts. >_>

Alorel is a very old character of mine, made magically 'real' within the City of Heroes game. Not just rendered in such a gorgeous way, but he was the only villain I played that I really enjoyed - even though earlier on until I got him some IO sets ('invention origin' enhancements for powers) he really absolutely sucked.

In his original form, he's a semi-elfin type that haunted my Otherforest universe. (All those elves in the Protector Holt? Those are in the Otherforest.... He might have to pay them a visit. I might have to finish making more of those.) He doesn't personally see himself as a villain, but he definitely isn't adverse to using underhanded tactics and blackmail, theft, murder, kidnapping, and general sleight of hand in order to get what he wants.

He's a tallish man, around 6'2 (which puts him nearly twice the height of my Otherforest character Snowdrift who is both an enemy and a love interest), with what I call 'autumn frost' colored hair - a reddish tan under a snowy white shade. Until playing City of Heroes with him I'd never considered him to have facial hair (or any other hair, really) but when I was creating him in the gen, the 'gunslinger' mustache seemed to fit beautifully and I have definitely stuck with it in my mind. His ears are not "really" that long, but those were the best to make him actually look non-human. The shorter 'demon', 'vampire' and 'elf' ears were all much too short under the 'Barbarian' hair I gave him. I tried using another hair on him but it just didn't look nearly as good as this. If we'd had actually long male hair, I'd have grabbed that, his hair is supposed to be waist-length. I used the 'zombie thin' or 'monstrous' hands on most of the outfits because they had more visible fingers and fingernails.

The first costume at the top is very close to the way I'd imagined him dressed in my Otherforest stories. Since COH didn't have a 'front/back' loincloth option, the robe there served perfectly well with pants added. I've always been excessively fond of the 'dagger' pattern (it reappears in his later outfit on his legs actually), and thus that cape is quite nice for him.

The white outfit I wish I'd gotten more screenshots of his powersets and such, because it wound up being the one I was frequently using when teaming on him in the last days. He cleans up *really well*. This is the kind of outfit he'd present himself in if he was at business meetings. Very clearly he's full of himself, his knack for the arcane and dangerous magic is nestled underneath a sharp, clean and neat exterior. This is the one outfit I'd changed his hair color to a blue-teal shade with the white.

The third costume is his "I AM A SCARY GOD-BEING, FEAR MEEEE!" and was primarily made because I picked up the Fire and Ice costume sets from the ingame shop. I really, REALLY wish that I'd had the chance to get the Celestial Armor because that was a far better set in my opinion. Also lol his beard in that outfit. :) But I think the (somewhat lame) hat and the (extremely awesome) death mask go well together. He'd encountered plenty of primitive life on other worlds, this is the kind of thing that he'd doll up to look like in order to subdue them or generally clear an area so he could use it in peace. The violet shaded one is the supergroup color mode which I also wish I'd had the time to arrange his other costumes to have. (The red-and-black outfit in the top section is also supergroup mode colors for that 1st outfit.)

The yellow and grey outfit was a lark for him. The 'Baron' collar certainly works very well with the Valkyrie cape and kilt :) Yes, he is the kind of guy who would wear a kilt and not bat an eye. It's armored, good for serious fights.

While technically the last two outfits were made in that order, I actually sort of see them in reverse. So I'll describe the last one and then the 5th. :)

Alorel's progression through the Rogue Isles was complete, he'd defeated Sirocco (his patron, LAWL patron) and went on to finish off a fight with Recluse himself. What to do after that? Be simply badass. Alorel's powers over ice and fire are by no means his only abilities. He also mastered the Mu powers of electricity - but in the Otherforest he also has a strong degree of telepathic domination, sensing, and a huge variety of "book magic" spells that he uses to aid his innate powers. Blood magic? Sure. Why not. While I can't see him just walking down a city street in this outfit, it absolutely means business (those gunslinger boots with the fuckin 'spur'? yow!). I think he might show up to meetings uninvited, in this. Also note his facial hair has changed a little but he'd definitely go back to the other version quickly enough.

The purple. Ah, the purple end. After hours, after defeating yet another idiotic superhero on his way out of a bank, Alorel would retire to Pocket D to toss back some drinks and maybe play some pool or bet on the Rikti monkey fights. (he'd cheat.) While his tie is undone and his smexy man-chest exposed, he's still strutting around in leather pants and sparkling with the Mu energy he'd stolen in the process of trying to become an Incarnate. (He would have made a GREAT incarnate. sigh.) But this outfit he'd be picking up chicks in. Yum.

Alorel hit 50 about 4 or 5 hours before the end of days. I have a couple shots of his ending 'stuff' but I can't recall whether I got a screenshot of his actual enhancements. No biggie, as they were essentially different from how I'd originally created him for the Otherforest.

He was retired (I will post that image soon) near Technician Naylor's portal, Primeva, Nerva Archipelago. The reason for this is that in the Otherforest canon, he enters the world via a chamber called the Hall of Portals, which *greatly* resembles some of the Oranbegan architecture (the shape of the archways and their use of portals specifically). Thus having him end with an 'out' back to his original world was kind of nice.

He has a daughter with Snowdrift named Winterkill, who appears on another server in the guise of Winterkill Glow.
