Overcast is a Zekiran grounded Steed, an unusually intelligent and highly evolved individual.

On Zekira, thousands of years after the civilization that had colonized the world vanished, two (or more) breeds of Steeds were left to run as they would across the ruins and reclaimed lands. Flighted Steeds with huge wings bearing feathers or a leathery skin dominate the skies. But those who were bred for ground work long before, also continued to evolve.

These Steeds are much bigger than Earthly horses, though follow approximately the same physical traits. (not shown on this picture, the 'wing bone' which is vestigal on all Groundeds, but sprouts up to 4" off the withers.)

Though most grounded Zekiran Steeds bear more resemblance to Shire and other heavy horses, Overcast's line has always been a more refined, light-bodied and long-legged group. She has never been 'tamed' - there are no people to do so. However, her personality would greet any attempts to tame her with a bit of disdain. She is far more intelligent than may of her peers in her herd, and for that reason often seeks out companionship from other, more odd Zekiran wildlife.

Her coat is almost always colors of grey, white, silver and black. However, due to the ancient genetic tampering that Zekirans did with their Steeds, the coloration does not remain consistant, and changes arrangement quite frequently. It doesn't require the loss or replacement of her thick fur, the fur itself changes color. Her legs are generally always dark, while her body, neck and head are generally light. Within that, though, her colors greatly resemble the overcast cloudy skies - stormy graphite-black, lightning-struck white, moody rain-bearing greys. The only thing truly consistant on her is her blaze of white that covers most of the front of her face, and her white short socks.

Overcast's mind works far more like a human's than a horse's, and there are still some Zekirans around here and there. Perhaps she will seek them out, travel the world, or even make friends with the odder furry Ferilon creatures (some of whom have become psionically active, able to produce fire or heal things).
